WE HAVE A BAND AGAIN!
Experience has shown that the size of the
band usually doubles in the last three
weeks before the 4th of July, so we're
in good shape with 24 signed up already.
Many of the regulars are still expected
to respond to the "call to duty," so the
sections should balance out pretty well.
At the moment, the flute, saxophone, and
baritone/euphonium sections are strongest.
PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF YOU
EXPECT TO BE IN THE BAND FOR
THE 4TH OF JULY, SO I CAN BE SURE TO
HAVE YOUR MUSIC PRINTED AND RESERVED FOR YOU.
If you would like to receive your music in advance, just send me an e-mail.
A personal note from Maestro Stinky: "Looking forward to seeing you and the
rest of the gang for another year of musical mayhem!"
That's a good term to describe our efforts to bring art and culture to the village
of Geneva. Of course, the patriotic numbers are the most popular and we don't
fool around with those. The highlight for me each year is playing The Star-
Spangled Banner to open the program at the picnic/festival after the parade. It's
our own custom arrangement, complete with rocket's red glare and bombs
bursting in air (in musical terms, that is). Hear a performance of it at SSB.
For details about where and when to meet, see The Map.
Thanks for your interest in the band. Hope to hear from you soon (softly) and
on the 4th of July (nice and loud!).
