LAST MINUTE DETAILS

Hooray for Pastor Jeanine of the
Methodist Church, who wrote:

You know the hall is always available
for you and the band.

Obviously a music lover!

So that means the rehearsal this year will be the same as
it has been every year since the Baptists turned us out.

THE BAND TAKES SHAPE

What shape?  I'm not quite sure yet, but we're up to 33
                                       musicians and auxiliary,
and that makes it the 3rd largest.

There will be at least one of each instrument, which is quite an
improvement since the last newsletter.  Looks like
we will have

a BIG saxophone section!

Last-minute recruiting is often productive, so please keep
spreading the word.  In addition to having more of each instrument,
including saxophones, we could enhance our "curb appeal" with
extra flag wavers.  Several of the band's flags are still unassigned,
as are the band's flute and two snare drums.

NEW RECRUITS

Just wanted to say "Welcome!" to those new to the band this year.  With the band's short annual
performance season (less than 4 hours from start to finish), there's not much time for getting
acquainted or socializing, but once the parade begins, "we're all in this together."  And remember
that it's supposed to be fun--for us and for our adoring public.

SEE YOU ON THE 4TH!

The rehearsal starts promptly(?) at 9 AM.  Stop by the registration table to pick up the music and
your $2 food allowance.

Thanks!
